One killed in road crash

One person was killed and 14 others were injured in separate road accidents in Chittagong and Dinajpur yesterday. Our Chittagong correspondent reports: Microbus driver Mokbul Ahmed, 35, of Langolkot in Comilla, was killed and another injured when a truck collided head-on with the microbus on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway near Rangdhonu fuel station at Mirsarai upazila of the district yesterday afternoon. In Dinajpur, two goods-laden trucks collided head-on on Dinajpur-Gobindaganj highway at college morh in Birampur upazila yesterday, leaving six people injured. Injured Abdul Maleque, 40, and Nazrul Islam, 35, the two truckers; Shahidul Islam, 22, and Nayan, 25, the two helpers; Ashraf Ali, 42, and Sayed Ali, 38, were undergoing treatment at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital. In another accident, a microbus fell into a ditch beside Phulbari-Rangpur highway at Madhyapara in Parbatipur upazila at around 12:30pm yesterday, leaving seven persons injured.
