Minor boy hit by train dies
A deaf boy was killed when a train hit him at the outer signal of Shambhuganj Railway Station in the district's Sadar upazila yesterday.
The victim was identified as Shafiqul Islam, 12, son of Abdul Khaleq of the area.
A Mymensingh-bound local train from Netrokona hit Shafiqul while he was walking along the rail line around 10:00am, said Badsha Mollah, sub-inspector of Government Railway Police, Mymensingh.
Critically injured Shafiqul was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital (MMCH) where he died later.
The body was sent to MMCH morgue for autopsy and a case was lodged in this regard.
