Wajedul world trade union presidium member
General Secretary of Bangladesh Trade Union Centre, Wajedul Islam Khan, has been elected one of 30 presidium members of World Trade Union Federation.
Wajedul, also convener of World Trade Union Federation Bangladesh (WTUFB), has been playing an important role in forming organisations and launching movements for workers over the last 42 years, said a press release yesterday.
He joined the association of fourth-class staff at Dhaka Medical College Hospital in 1967 when he was a student.
Members of WTUFB committee congratulated him.
