72-hr transport strike in Rajshahi division from today
Bangladesh Transport Workers Federation has enforced a 72-hour transport strike in eight districts of Rajshahi division from today morning to press home its eight-point demand, including appointment letter for transport workers.
The organisation's Rajshahi divisional publicity secretary Anwar Parvez said the transport owners are depriving workers as most of them have no appointment letters.
Their other demands include increasing salary and allowances, easy condition of licence renewal, stoppage of three-wheelers (Nasimon, Karimon) on city streets and highways and end of plying overweight trucks and covered vans.
