Six houses gutted in Ctg
A fire gutted six houses and damaged valuables worth Tk 10 lakh in south Debarpar area under Double Mooring Police Station in the port city early yesterday.
Sarwar Jahan of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defence said the fire originated from an electric short circuit at a house in the area around 4:40am.
The fire soon spread out to and gutted adjoining five houses, he added.
On information, four fire fighting units from Agrabad and Bandar fire stations rushed to the spot and managed to douse the blaze at about 6:15am.
