Two killed in road crashes
A local Awami League (AL) leader and a school teacher were killed in two separate road accidents in Singra upazila of the district on Wednesday.
The deceased are Lutfar Rahaman Mollah, 60, vice-president of Chamari union unit of the AL in Singra upazila, and Ansar Ali, 52, assistant teacher of 'Sherkol Samjan Ali High School' of the same upazila.
Lutfar was injured critically as two motorcycles collided head on in Chamari Bazar area on Tuesday noon, said Fayesur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Singra Police Station.
Lutfar was riding on one of the motorcycles.
He succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical Collage Hospital on Wednesday at around 10:30pm.
In another accident, Ansar and three others were injured seriously when their microbus overturned on Natore-Bogra highway in Ningoin area on Tuesday morning.
He died at Square Hospital in the capital at about 9:45pm on the same night.
