Illegal fishing nets worth Tk 42 lakh seized
Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard, in several drives, seized illegal fishing nets worth Tk 42 lakh in Laxmipur yesterday afternoon.
Lieutenant Commander Mohammed Yousuf, staff officer (operation) of the coastguard (east zone), said a team of the guard conducted drives at Kotria, Hetnar Ghat, Loduar Ghat and adjacent areas of Komolnagar in Laxmipur district.
The team seized around 70,000 metres of illegal fishing nets during the drives.
