Two muggers arrested; firearms, ammo seized
Police arrested two muggers red handed and seized arms and ammunition from their possessions before Port Market in the city yesterday noon.
The arrestees are Golam Sarwar, 35, of Barguna and Sazzad Hossain, 25, of Comilla.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Halishahar police conducted a drive in the area at around 1:30pm. It arrested them at gun point while they were going to port area from Chotopul by a CNG-run three-wheeler.
The police seized a foreign revolver with six rounds of bullets, a locally made gun with two rounds of bullets, two knives and a machete from their possessions, said the police station Officer-in-Charge Mohammed Jahedul Islam.
