Murder accused JCD leader 'missing'
A leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), student front of BNP, has been "missing since April 3" after he was accused of murdering a fellow man on March 22.
Family and BNP leaders claimed that Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar, joint secretary of Sylhet city JCD, in the capital's Uttara on April 3.
Dinar is accused of killing JCD man Mahmud Hossain Shawkat on the night of March 22. Dinar went missing after the victim's mother filed a case against him on March 25.
Dinar's rivals in the JCD alleged that Dinar along with two others chopped Shawkat to death, as the victim had recently defected Dinar's faction.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Kazi Bazle Maola, media liaison officer of Rab, said the force did not have any knowledge of Dinar's arrest.
