A three-day fair titled “Chhotoder Pahela Baishakh” (Bangla new year for children) began at Fulki, a reputed educational institute, in the port city yesterday. Musa Ibrahim, the first Bangladeshi Everest conqueror, inaugurated the fair as chief guest yesterday evening. Shila Momen, Principal of Fulki, and Abul Momen, secretary of trusty board of Fulki, were also present on the occasion. In his welcome speech, Musa Ibrahim said, “I did not get chance to study in such a beautiful educational institution like Fulki but I tried to see my world through my own view.” He urged the guardians to permit their children to do what they want. He hoped if they got such freedom they would be great persons in future. Shila said Fulki had been celebrating Pahela Baishakh through such fair for last 16 years. “Every year we arrange such fair to celebrate Pahela Baishak and children work along with their teachers to organise the fair,” she added. Students will participate in different events including creative games, science exhibition, book fair and cultural programme.
