Cotton worth Tk 5 lakh gutted
A fire in a private-owned container depot gutted cotton worth Tk 5 lakh at Patenga in the port city on Sunday night.
Fire service sources said the fire, originated from excessive heat inside the cotton-filled container at around 10:30pm, burnt the cotton at the Summit Alliance Port Limited.
On information, two fire fighting units from CEPZ rushed to the spot and doused the flame at around 11:15pm.
