Around 200 students of Bay View School in the port city took part in a two-part competition on the history, culture, tradition and heritage of Chittagong yesterday. Ten contestants, including five in the written test and five in MCQ, won the competition. In the written part, the students wrote on “Our Green City Chittagong”, while they answered 20 questions about history, culture, traditions, heritage and sports in the quiz test. The competition was organised by the school as an extension of Odommo Chattagram programme, an initiative of The Daily Star, which ended on April 10. Baishakhi Mendes, principal and director of Bay View School, distributed prizes among the winners. She thanked The Daily Star for helping to arrange such programme and urged the newspaper to continue to take such initiative in the future.
