Flag hoisting day at Kolkata mission today
Today is the flag hoisting day of independent Bangladesh at the Kolkata mission.
On the day in 1971, the Bangalee diplomats and officials led by then First Secretary M Hossain Ali first hoisted the flag of independent Bangladesh at the Kolkata mission.
Since then, April 18 is being considered as a significant event in Bangladesh's national history, said a press release.
