Tree branch kills rickshaw puller
An unidentified rickshaw puller was killed in a freak accident when a large tree branch fell on him at Secretariat road in the capital's Shahbagh yesterday.
Witnesses said the rickshaw puller was resting under a tree in front of TB Hospital around 3:00pm when a big branch of the tree broke off and fell on him killing him instantly.
Aminul Islam, a local, told this correspondent that the rickshaw puller drank a glass of water from a nearby tea stall and was standing under the shade of the tree for just five minutes before the branch broke.
