Road crashes kill 5
Five persons, including a minor girl, were killed and 14 others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna, Lalmonirhat and Sirajganj on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our Pabna Correspondent reports: Two cattle traders were killed and four others, including the driver of the three-wheeler by which they were travelling, injured in a road crash in Santhia upazila on Tuesday evening.
The deceased are Md Ansar Ali, 40, of Sudarkanti village, and Ishhaque Ali, 55, of Rangamati village in the upazila.
The five cattle traders were going to Bera upazila by the three-wheeler (locally known as Nasiman) loaded with cattle, said police.
The vehicle fell into a roadside ditch as the driver lost control over the steering at Konbari point, leaving the six injured.
All the injured were taken to Santhia upazila health complex. As the condition of Ansar and Ishhaque deteriorated, they were taken to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where they died.
Our Lalmonirhat Correspondent adds: A minor girl, who was hit by an Easy bike, a battery-run three-wheeler, while crossing a road near Suchona Cinema in Hatibandha upazila on Tuesday noon, died at Hatibandha Upazila Health Complex on Tuesday night.
The deceased was identified as Diya Akhter, 5, daughter of Aminur Rahman of Goddimari in the upazila, said police.
Our Sirajganj Correspondent reports: Two persons were killed and ten others injured in a road accident in Sirajganj Sadar upazila yesterday.
One of the deceased was identified as Israfil Hossain, 25, son of Kobad Hossain of Dattabari Mahalla in Sirajganj municipal area.
The injured were admitted to Sirajganj General Hospital and different clinics.
A Kazipur bound bus collided head-on with a Nasiman at Kuralia, leaving the two dead on the spot and the 10 other passengers injured, said police.
