Higher budgetary funds for youths demanded

Dhaka University (DU) students yesterday urged the government to provide sufficient allocation in the next national budget for enhancing the potential efficiency of the youth in order to develop the nation. They also demanded the government's direct support to help them achieve higher education in noted universities abroad. Around 200 DU students made the urge at a human chain programme organised by them in cooperation with Youth Against Hunger, a voluntary organisation, at the base of Aparajeya Bangla on the campus. The students said the government should support the youth to increase their efficiency through different programmes backed by the national budget. In the field of higher education, the government should launch more number of scholarships for the students to study in foreign universities, they said. They pressed home their demands, collecting signatures of 4,000 DU students.
