Road crashes kill 5
Five people were killed and 10 others injured in separate road accidents in Sylhet, Natore, Chapainawabganj and Magura yesterday.
Staff correspondent from Sylhet reports: Two people were killed and three others injured as a truck hit a microbus on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Jagodishpur in Madhabpur upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were Moshahid Uddin Chowdhgury, 33, and Abul Kalam, 45.
Our Natore correspondent says: Arman Ali, 37, died instantly and five others were injured when two trucks collided head-on on Natore-Pabna highway at Garmati in Baraigram upazila yesterday morning.
Injured Jakir Hossain, 45, Jalal Uddin, 42, were rushed to Pabna General Hospital while Lavlu Hossain, 40, and Astul Pramanik to Rajshahi Medical Collage Hospital and Shahidul Islam, 25, to a local clinic.
In Chapainawabganj, three-wheeler driver Mainul Islam, 35, was killed and two others were injured as a truck hit the vehicle from the opposite direction at Ranihati Bazar in Shibganj upazila yesterday morning.
In Magura, a human hauler turned turtle on Magura-Jessore highway in Jagla area, leaving its passenger Mohammad Shahidul Islam dead.
