Bidhan Krishna's contribution recalled
Speakers at a discussion here said the senior citizens should inform the new generation about historic movement of the struggling persons like Bidhan Krishna Sen who sacrificed a lot in their lives for the independence of Bangladesh.
They made the remark at a discussion on Tuesday held on the occasion of the 8th death anniversary of Bidhan Krishna Sen, an eminent politician and one of the accused of Agartala conspiracy case.
Muktijuddher Chetona Songrokhan Porishad organised the event at Monirujjaman Islamabadi Memorial Hall with Jitendra Prashad Montu, convenor of the porishad, was in the chair.
Vice-chancellor of Premier University Prof Dr Anupam Sen was the chief guest. Raisul Haq Bahar, Chittagong bureau chief of The Daily Star, freedom fighter Dr Syedur Rahman Chowdhury, Ashraf Khan and Mohammad Haris were present as special guests.
Dr Anupam Sen said, “Bidhan Krishna Sen was one of the few who worked hard and helped Bangabandhu Sheikh Muzibur Rahman a lot during the liberation movement of Bangladesh."
Along with the movement of Bidhan Krishna, his fellows like Dr Syedur Rahman and Manik Chowdhury added new dimension to the liberation movement of Bangladesh.
Shaibal Sen, son of Bidhan Krishna, freedom fighter Nur Mohammad Chowdhury, Anwarul Azim and politician Nasiruddin Chowdhury were also spoke at the discussion.
