Ex-staff of Shudha Sadan held

Police arrested a former employee of the Prime Minister's personal residence, Shudha Sadan, yesterday when he went to Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) headquarters for reconciliation of a family feud. Iqbal Hossain Mintu, son of Nasir Uddin of Pabna, was a telephone operator of Shudha Sadan. He was removed from the job last year, said Rokon Uddin, an assistant commissioner of RMP. He was arrested following an arrest warrant issued against him in a case filed by his wife Ismat Ara Lima with Boalia Police Station under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Rokon. Rajpara police also seized his car and found a licensed shotgun loaded with four bullets and one phensidyl bottle inside it. Another case will be filed against him for keeping the phensidyl, said police officials. Lima filed the case in October last year and Mintu recently submitted an application to the RMP commissioner alleging that the case filed against him is false and filed only to harass him. Based on his application, the RMP commissioner on April 17 asked Detective Branch assistant commissioner Rokon Uddin to investigate Mintu's claim. Rokon then called both the feuding parties to his office yesterday. Though his wife did not come to the RMP headquarters, Mintu went to the RMP with his 500-60 aides in 10 cars and micro-buses from Pabna.
