Drugs of Tk 82.40 lakh destroyed
Bangladesh Coast Guard destroyed Tk 82.40 lakh worth of contraband beer and liquor, seized in different drives between January and March this year, in the port city yesterday.
The 5,550 bottles of drugs entered Bangladesh from neighbouring countries on merchant vessels illegally.
Senior Secretary of Home Ministry CQM Mostak Ahmed and Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard Rear Admiral Qazi Sarowar Jahan were present while the drugs were destroyed at Coast Guard Base.
