Six killed in road crashes
Six people, including four friends, were killed in separate road accidents in Kishoreganj, Pabna and Jamalpur on Friday and yesterday.
Our Kishoreganj correspondent reports: Four friends were killed when a human hauler hit their motorbike on Katiadi-Pakundia road in Bhogpara area of Katiadi upazila on Friday night.
The deceased were Didar Mia, 20, Arif Mia, 20, Sajal Mudak, 15, and Amit, 18, of the upazila.
The accident occurred at around 9:30pm when Didar was riding the bike carrying the three others and the human hauler locally known as Tomtom rammed the bike, killing them instantly, said Katiadi Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mostafizur Rahman.
In Pabna, a wife was killed and her husband injured when a bus hit their motorbike on Pabna-Sujanagar highway at Kochuri village in Sujanagar upazila yesterday afternoon.
The deceased was Mili Khatun, 28, while her injured husband, Abul Kalam Azad of Kadoa village in Sujanagar upazila.
The injured was undergoing treatment at Bogra CMH in a critical condition.
In Jamalpur, a government employee was crushed under the wheels of a truck in front of Bakshiganj Upazila Headquarters in the district on yesterday morning.
The victim was Nur-e-Alam Mahtab, 55, an office assistant of the district relief and rehabilitation office.
