Phensidyl seized, two held
Police in separate drives arrested two persons and seized phensidyl from Hazi Camp area and Pahartali area in the port city yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a drive at a house in Rupban adjacent to Hazi Camp area under Pahartali Police Station and arrested two persons with 49 bottles of phensidyl.
The arrestees were Jewel Mia, 24, of Azimbox Colony, Pahartali, and Saiful Islam, 25, of Saraipara, Pahartali.
In another drive, police seized 105 bottles of phensidyl from a private car at Jhawtal area under the Pahartali Police Station.
After being chased by the police, the drug peddlers of the car fled the scene, leaving the car near Jhawtala level crossing.
