Buddha Purnima celebrated

Buddhist community here celebrated their biggest religious festival Buddha Purnima at different temples of the port city yesterday. The day's programmes started with a colourful peace procession organised by Bangladesh Buddhist Samity from Chittagong Buddhist Monastery at Nandankanan at around 9:00am. Devotees from all walks of life gathered in the different temples from the morning with various kinds of sweets and food items and lit candles. Chittagong Buddhist Monastery arranged a painting exhibition on the life of Gautam Buddha. Katalganj Nabapandit Bihar, Purnachar International Buddhist Monasteries, Sarbajanin Buddha Bihar and Bishwamoitry Buddha Bihar also organised day-long programmes to celebrate the day at their temples.
