Building tilts, damages tin-shed house
A two-storied building at Kunipara of the capital's Tejgaon Industrial area tilted, damaging eight rooms of an adjacent two-storied makeshift tin-shed house yesterday night. However, no casualties were reported.
Locals said the three-year-old 28-by-12 feet building, housing only kitchens and bathrooms of an adjacent tin-shed house, tilted at around 1:30pm.
The eight families residing in the damaged rooms alongside 30 other families of an adjacent tin-shed house were shifted to safety.
The building's caretaker Md Zamal claimed a neighbour, Mokbul Hossain, was filling up an adjacent plot, causing the accident.
The building was being demolished during filing of this report at around 9:10pm.
