25 sharp weapons seized at college dorm
Police seized about 25 sharp weapons and detained two students during a raid at a dormitory of Dhaka College early yesterday.
The raid was conducted as three cases were filed since two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) clashed over establishing supremacy on the campus on April 29, said Abdul Halim, a sub-inspector of New Market Police Station.
At least 15 students were injured, two of them with bullets, during the clash.
Police conducted the raid at North Hostel and detained Mofazzal Hossain and Rafiqul Islam as they resided without residential identity cards, the SI said.
They also seized nearly 25 sharp weapons and a number of iron rods and iron pipes during the raid.
