Youth beaten to death
A youth was beaten to death by some unknown criminals and his body was dumped into a bush at Baraipara in Ashulia on the outskirts of the capital city yesterday.
The deceased was Mohammad Alam, 25, of Dhamrai in Manikhganj.
Ashulia police recovered the body from the bush at around 12:00 noon. Later, it was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Badrul Alam Sheikh, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station, said they identified the deceased after they found a cell phone number written on a paper in his pocket.
