Two men held for using DB identity
Two men were arrested on charge of impersonating detectives in separate drives in the city's New Market area and Anwara upazila Tuesday night and early yesterday.
The detainees used to rob people in the guise of the fake identity. The microbus they used for their misdeeds was seized.
The Detective Branch (DB) of police said Rana Nandi, 26, of Anwara upazila and Yakub Bedi, 36, of Patiya upazila were involved in robbing a man of Tk 5.75 lakh on March 13.
Yakub confessed to his and Rana's involvement in the mugging, they added.
