4 killed, 25 hurt in road accidents
Four people were killed and 25 others injured in separate road accidents in Tangail and Chittagong yesterday.
Our Tangail correspondent reports: Three people were killed and 25 others injured in a collision between two passenger buses at Shibpur in the sadar upazila yesterday afternoon.
Two of the deceased were Shariful Islam, 34, of Gaibandha and Marjina Begum, 32, of Bogra.
Highway police said a Dhaka-bound passenger bus collided head-on with another bus from the opposite direction on Bangabandhu Bridge connecting road in the area at around 2:30pm, killing the three passengers instantly and injuring 15 others.
The injured were rushed to Tangail General Hospital.
In Chittagong, Junaid Hossain, 2, son of Md Ahsan Ullah, was killed on the spot as a truck ran over him in front of his residence at Jiboner colony near Azim Factory in Ichhanagar under Karnaphuli Police Station at around 6:00am yesterday morning.
