Student crushed under train's wheels
A youth was crushed to death under the wheels of a train near Titipara rail crossing at Kamlapur in the capital yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Tanmay Islam Tushar, 25, a student of Marine Technology Institute in Narayanganj.
Tanmay, son of Nurul Islam of Kadam of Bondor area in Narayanganj, was crushed under the wheels of a Dhaka-bound train from Narayanganj and died as he fell down from the train while he was going to Dhaka along with his cousin Noman.
Noman told Railway police, “Tushar fell from the train suddenly when we were standing in front of a door at around 12:30pm."
Khairul Bashar, Kamalapur Railway Station manager, said the locals and railway police rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at around 1:30pm.
