Opposition creates anarchy to protect war criminals
Says GM Quader
Commerce Minister GM Quader yesterday alleged that the opposition was creating anarchy through resorting to bombing in the name of hartal to protect the war criminals.
The Jatiya Party (JP) leader also said the opposition had been continuing its efforts to impede the development activities of the government.
The minister came up with the observation at a function at Sadar upazila parishad auditorium where cash and corrugated iron sheets were distributed among the poor.
He said Jatiya Party did not support any destructive politics rather it wanted peace and development in the country.
Deputy Commissioner M Mokhlesur Rahman Sarkar, District Council administrator Advocate Matiar Rahman, Sadar upazila chairman Nazrul Haque Patwari, local Awami League and JP leaders also spoke on the occasion with Lalmonirhat acting UNO (upazila nirbahi officer) Shariful Alam in the chair.
Earlier, GM Quader attended the fifth meeting of the hospital management committee at the civil surgeon office.
He said the government had taken initiatives to reach the modern healthcare facilities to the people's doorstep.
The commerce minister further said the government had taken a plan to give priority to the health sector in the next national budget.
