Fire breaks out at power plant
Five workers wounded
Five workers sustained burn injuries when a fire broke out at Ghorashal thermal power plant in Narsingdi yesterday morning.
Four of the injured were identified as Abdul Ahad, 26, Riaz Uddin, 25, Babul, 25, and Al Amin, 24. The identity of the other worker could not be known immediately.
The fire originated at around 10:00am from the circuit breaker of a generator, which the workers were repairing, Akhtarul Islam, chief engineer of the power plant, told The Daily Star.
The injured were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
