Body of outlaw recovered in Jhenidah

Police recovered the body of a member of outlawed Purbo Bangla Communist Party (PBCP) from a field at Kanta village in Jhenidah sadar upazila early yesterday. The deceased was Abu Syeed alias Boma Syeed, son of Yeakubbar Ali of the village in the upazila. Quoting family members of Syeed, Iqbal Bahar Chawdhary, officer-in-charge (OC) at Jhenidah sadar police station, said some criminals called Syeed over cell phone while he was sitting at a tea stall at Gopalpur bazaar on Thursday evening, and hacked him to death. Locals found the body at the field around 12:00am on that night, and informed the police, he said. Police sent it to Jhenidah Sadar Hospital morgue for an autopsy, the OC said. Iqbal Bahar said Syeed was accused of three cases including arms and extortions with the police station. Police suspect that the incident of killing might be occurred due to internal feud of the party.
