'Mapping of non-Bangla speaking ethnic groups underway'

Staff Correspondent
Mapping for non-Bangla speaking Small Ethnic Groups (SEG) in Bangladesh is underway to find out their exact population, location and culture, so that the government and Adivasi welfare institutions could address SEG's problems, said speakers yesterday. They said this at the closing of a three-day long workshop styled “Adivasi of Bangladesh: Identity, numbers and mapping” organised by Society for Environment and Human Development (SEHD) in the capital. State Minister for Cultural Affairs Advocate Promod Mankin, SEHD Director Philip Gain and its Chairman Shakhawat Ali Khan also addressed the session.
