Current nets worth Tk 28.5 lakh seized
Members of Bangladesh Coast Guard seized 50,000 metres of current nets worth around Tk 28.5 lakh near Teknaf of Cox's Bazar yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the coastguard (east), led by Operation Staff Lt Commander Atiqur Rahman Bhuiyan, conducted a drive in the bay near Teknaf beach around 12:00 noon, the guard sources said.
The team seized the nets as some fishermen, who were set to fish, fled leaving it, said Atiqur.
