Khaleda greets Egyptian president
Opposition leader and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has greeted Egypt's newly elected President Mohammed Morsi.
In a message to Morsi yesterday, Khaleda hoped that the new Egyptian president would be able to reflect the aspirations of people under his bold leadership and maintain peace and stability.
Terming his election as the president of Egypt a remarkable happening, she hoped the existing friendly relations between Bangladesh and Egypt would be strengthened further during Morsi's tenure.
The BNP chairperson also wished him good health and long life.
Morsi won the presidential election by defeating his rival Ahmed Shafiq, an ex-premier and senior leader of Hosni Mubarak era, by around one million votes.
