Cleaner murdered in capital
A cleaner of a private bank was stabbed to death by unidentified miscreants in the capital's Sutrapur area early yesterday.
The deceased Md Abdur Rahim Hawladar, 40, from Mathbaria of Pirojpur, was a cleaner of Babubazar branch of National Bank Limited.
Sheikh Abu Musa, sub-inspector of Sutrapur Police Station, said police recovered his body from Nasir Uddin Sardar Lane of Roy Saheb Bazar area in Sutrapur around 4:45am. He was stabbed indiscriminately when he was returning to his Babubazar's residence from Pirojpur early morning, he added.
The police recovered the victim's wallet searching his body, but his mobile phone set was not found.
The reason behind the killing could not be ascertained immediately.
The police sent the body to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A murder case was filed with Sutrapur Police Station.
