Students protest transfer of principal
The students of Carmichael College in Rangpur yesterday boycotted classes demanding withdrawal of the transfer order of the college's Principal Depokendra Nath Das.
The students under the banner Sochetan Chhatra Samaj called the indefinite strike yesterday.
The college's Bangladesh Chhatra League unit enforced the strike, said some students preferring anonymity.
On May 16, Depokendra Nath Das was transferred to Government Azizul Haque College in Bogra. The order was withdrawn following an earlier strike called by the students of Carmichael College.
However, on Tuesday Das was again ordered to be transferred to the same college.
