Death anniversary
Today is the 17th death anniversary of Justice Muhammad Ansar Ali, a renowned lawyer and Justice of Bangladesh Supreme Court, says a press release. He was imprisoned in 1952 for his participation in the Language Movement and was awarded with "Matribhasha Padak 2001" for his association with this historic movement. He was a freedom fighter in the Liberation War of 1971. He was elected senior vice-president of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association and the president of Rangpur High Court Bar Association. Qurankhwani and milad mahfil will be held at his village home in Naogaon and also at Banani graveyard in the capital today.
