Five killed, nine injured in road accidents
Five people were killed and nine others injured in road accidents in Sirajganj, Rangpur, and Jessore on Tuesday and yesterday.
Our Sirajganj correspondent reports, two people were killed and nine others injured in road accidents in the district yesterday.
In an incident, Abdul Gofur, 35, of Shernagar village under Belkuchi upazila, died on the spot when a tank-lorry collided head-on with a CNG-run auto rickshaw in Saidabad area near the Bangabandhu Bridge. Four people were also injured in the incident.
In another incident, Abdul Mannan, 20, of Ultadab village in Shahzadpur upazila, was killed on the spot, and fiver other passengers of a 'Nasiman' were injured as a bus hit the engine-run three wheeler on Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway in Chariashika area yesterday.
Our Rangpur correspondent reports, a girl and an unidentified man were killed in road accidents on Rangpur-Dhaka highway in the district on Tuesday.
In an incident, Bithi, 10, daughter of Abu Bakkar of Islampur village in Mithapukur upazila, was killed on the spot as a pick-up van ran her in Boiragyganj Islampur area.
In another accident, a bus ran over an unidentified man killing him on the same spot on Tuesday night.
Our Benapole correspondent reports, a college student was killed when a truck hit his motorcycle on Benapole-Jessore highway in Chasra area in Jessore yesterday.
Ajminur Rahman Mim, 18, a second year student at Jessore Upashahar Degree College, was killed as a truck hit his motorcycle in the area around 8:00pm.
Seriously injured Mim was rushed to Jessore Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
