Trader injured in attack, dies

A trader, who was stabbed by some people in the capital's Chawkbazar area on Wednesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital early yesterday. The deceased was Delwar Hossain, 48, a plastic utensil seller and a resident of West Islambagh in the capital. Muhammad Chanchal Bepari, a cousin of Delwar, said some 20 to 25 people attacked Delwar with sharp weapons in front of his house. He claimed that fellows of Moazzem, another local trader who was killed by some miscreants on Tuesday night, attacked Delwar following the killing. Delwar and Moazzem had a feud over their business, he said, adding that relatives of Moazzem sued Delwar in connection with the killing. Locals said Delwar and Moazzem had feud over drug trading in the area.
