5 pry teachers suspended
An assistant education officer and five primary school teachers of Barisal district were suspended for remaining absent from their duties yesterday.
Secretary of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, SM Niaz Uddin, suspended the teachers during a surprise visit at three government primary schools under sadar and Bakerganj upazilas of the district.
The teachers are Taslima Begum, assistant education officer of Barisal sadar upazila, Mohammad Humayun Kabir, headmaster of Mokimabad Najibunnessa Government Primary School under Bakerganj upazila, and Sifat Siddika, assistant senior teacher, Siria Khan, Shipra Rani Mojumder and Umme Salma of Tilak Koladama Government Primary school of sadar upazila.
The secretary disclosed the names at a press conference at Barisal circuit house yesterday.
