Two bakeries fined in Ctg
A mobile court fined two bakeries Tk 2.5 lakh in Paschim Madar Bari area in Chittagong city for producing bakery items violating Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institution's (BSTI) rules.
The court found that the bakeries were producing vermicelli, chanachur and biscuits in unhygienic environment without BSTI's licence and selling them without any expiry dates.
It fined Master Bakery and Confectionery Tk 1 lakh and Pragoti Bread and Confectionery Tk 1.50 lakh.
Meanwhile, Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) destroyed 200 kg of vermicelli worth Tk 20,000 for producing them in unhygienic environment.
