Probe body formed over MC College violence
Sylhet district administration yesterday formed a five-member committee to probe into the Sunday night's incident in Government MC College of Sylhet that left many rooms of the college hostel burnt.
The committee chief Additional District Magistrate Md Shahidul Alam said they had been asked to file a report within 10 working days.
At least 42 rooms were gutted as those were set afire following a clash between Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists and Shibir men, said the principal of the college Dhiresh Chandra Sarker.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid condemned the incident. He is scheduled to visit the college tomorrow.
