Two killed, 41 hurt in road accidents

Two people were killed and forty-one others injured in separate road accidents in Pabna, Sirajganj and Patuakhali yesterday. Our Pabna correspondent reports, a Nosimon driver was killed yesterday and another injured as a truck hit the three-wheeler on Pabna Chatmohar road at Hengli point on Thursday night. The deceased is Hazrat Ali, 42, of Chatmohar upazila while the injured is Khairul Islam, the three-wheeler passenger. Chatmohar police said the truck rammed the three-wheeler on the road around 11:00pm while it was coming from Chatmohar Bazar, injuring the two. The inured were admitted to Chatmohar Upazila Health Complex. Later, Hazrat was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday morning. Our Sirajganj correspondent says, an unidentified bus helper was killed and five others were injured as the bus hit two trucks on the west approach road of Bangabandhu Bridge at Konabari yesterday. Police said Dhaka-bound two mango and cattle-laden trucks were stranded at Konabari Mafiz square. A bus hit the trucks from behind, leaving the cattle-laden truck fallen into a ditch beside the road. Our Patuakhali correspondent adds, at least 35 people were injure as a Galachipa-bound passenger bus plunged into a ditch beside Dhaka-Galachipa road at Battala in Bakulbaria area of the district yesterday early morning. Of injured, 10 were admitted to Galachipa Upazila Health Complex.
