3 journalist impersonators held
Police detained three journalist impersonators at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) yesterday.
The detainees are Humayun Kabir, 60, Ramjan Ali, 36, and Sheikh Abdul Ahad, 45.
Esaraf Hossain Esa, general secretary of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB), said a group of people, introducing themselves as journalists, were trying to hold a roundtable at DRU yesterday under the banner of International Human Rights Crime Reporters Foundation.
When the attending journalists asked for their identity cards, they failed to produce them. Later the journalists handed them over to Shahbagh police. Their associates however fled.
