Sust academic council polls today
The elections to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) syndicate and academic council will be held today (Sunday).
Pro-Awami League (AL) and left-leaning teachers will contest the polls under two panels while pro-BNP and pro-Jamaat teachers will contest under one panel.
A panel from AL and left-leaning teachers, Prof Md Kabir Hossain and Abu Awal Md Shoeb will contest for representation in the syndicate, and Dr Himadri Shekhor Roy, Sharodindu Bhattacharya, Faruque Uddin and Al-Amin Rabbi for the representation in the academic council.
From the BNP-backed teachers, Prof Kamal Ahmed Chowdhury and Prof Nizam Uddin will contest for the syndicate memberships while Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Prof Hossain Al Mamun, Md Masud Alam, and Md Omar Faruque will contest for the academic council positions.
