Four killed in road accidents
Four people were killed and four others injured in separate road accidents in Naogaon, Jessore and Jhenidah on Saturday and yesterday.
Our Chapainawabganj correspondent reports, two people were killed and four others injured when a Rajshahi-bound passenger bus hit a Bhutbhuti (three-wheeler) on Naogaon-Rajshahi highway in Deluabari area of Manda upazila in Naogaon district yesterday noon.
The deceased are Arzan Ali, 50, of Dhantoir village in Tanore upazila of Rajshahi, and Shahida Begum, 45, wife of late Younus Ali of Murshidpur village in Manda upazila.
Injured Kamruzzaman, 32, Abdul Bari, 55, Abdul Halim, 25, and Nipa, 8, were rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital.
In Jessore, Mozammel Hossain, 50, of Kashiadanga village in Sarsha upazila, was killed when a truck hit him while he was crossing the road in Ulashi Bazar area of the upazila yesterday.
UNB from Jhenidah says, a boy was killed as a motorbike hit him at Keshtapur village in Harinakundu upazila on Saturday.
The deceased is Mamun Hossain, 8, son of Abdul Aziz of the village.
Police said the motorbike knocked Mamun while he was standing beside a road in his village in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.
