Students, teachers happy
Eyeing for a GPA-5, students along with their guardians anxiously waited for their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examination results on Chittagong Government College campus yesterday morning amidst incessant rainfall in the port city.
The scenario was no different at other colleges of the city.
As the moment of results finally arrived, some students leapt with joy while others broke into tears.
Like the previous year, Fauzderhat Cadet College topped among the colleges under Chittagong Education Board in terms of their HSC performance this year.
All 41 examinees of the college passed the HSC examination, with 38 of them securing GPA-5.
Meanwhile, Chittagong Government College and Government Commerce College, Chittagong secured the second and third spots respectively in the list of top 20 educational institutions of Chittagong as ranked by the local board this year.
A total of 445 and 333 students respectively of the two colleges achieved GPA-5 this year.
“My dreams have come true and I got the fruits of my two years of hard work”, said a GPA-5 holder who seeks to get admission into Dhaka Medical College.
This year, the total HSC examinees from Chittagong were 54,549. Of them, 39,011 students passed, with 3,145 securing GPA-5.
