Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Ghulam Rahman yesterday said flaws in the legal system are the key barriers to curbing corruption. "There is a gap between the word 'corruption' and the ACC laws, which have many limitations," the ACC chief said while addressing a roundtable at TK Bhaban in the capital's Karwan Bazar. Journalism Training and Research Initiative (Jatri) organised the programme titled 'Public Event on Investigative Journalism to Reduce Corruption in Bangladesh'. “We need to create public awareness to change the society and curb corruption,” said Ghulam Rahman. On the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG), he said if CAG performs its duty sincerely corruption would be eradicated. Information Commissioner Prof Dr Sadeka Halim said corruption has become institutionalised.
