Student drowns in Dhanmondi lake
An honours student of a private university drowned in Dhanmondi lake of the capital yesterday.
The deceased Mong Nai Prue Marma Dickson, 23, was a sixth semester student at fine arts department of University of Development Alternative (Uoda) and a grandson of Bandarban Bomang Circle King Aung Shoi Prue Chowdhury.
Sagar Sengupta, a student of Uoda, said Dickson drowned while swimming along with his three friends in the lake near old 32 number road of Dhanmondi.
He was rushed to Bangladesh Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
He had been living in a rented house at Dhanmondi.
An UD case was filed in this connection, said Sub-inspector of Dhanmondi Police Station Jahangir Alam Mandal.
